Privacy Policy

How TubeGrade collects, uses, shares, and protects your information across the web app, API, MCP server, free tools, and Chrome extension.

    Last updated June 19, 2026.

    In short

    • We collect only what we need: your account info, how you use the app, and public YouTube data.
    • We never sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
    • AI features send your prompts and relevant data to our model provider only to generate your results.
    • We use trusted processors — Google/Supabase, Hostinger, Cloudflare, and Dodo Payments.
    • You can access, correct, export, or delete your data anytime by emailing us.
    • We protect data with encryption in transit, access controls, and audit logging.

This summary is for convenience only — the full text below is what governs.

    1. Overview & Scope

This Privacy Policy explains what information Vidgrade Media Private Limited, the company that operates the TubeGrade product ("Vidgrade Media", "TubeGrade", "we", "us", or "our"), collects, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to the TubeGrade website, dashboard, public and versioned API, MCP server, free tools, and Chrome extension (together, the "Service").

Vidgrade Media Private Limited is the controller — and, under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the data fiduciary — responsible for your personal data. We aim to collect only what we need to run, secure, and improve the product. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

    2. Information You Provide

Account information: when you sign in with Google (via Supabase authentication), we receive basic profile details such as your name, email address, and profile image. We receive only the information your Google account permits for sign-in; we do not receive your Google password, and you can review or revoke our access in your Google account settings.

Content you create: searches, prompts, saved videos, boards, generated ideas, niche reports, notes, preferences, competitor lists, and API keys you generate.

Payment information: paid plans are handled by our payment partner, Dodo Payments, which acts as merchant of record. Dodo Payments collects and processes your payment details; we do not store full card numbers. We receive limited billing metadata such as your plan, subscription status, and transaction identifiers.

Communications: if you contact support or send feedback, we receive your message and contact details.

    3. Information We Collect Automatically

To keep the Service reliable and secure, we process usage and feature events, device and browser type, operating system, approximate location derived from IP address, and operational logs including errors, performance metrics, and security events.

We maintain an internal audit log of administrative actions for security and accountability. These signals are necessary to operate the Service and may be processed even where optional analytics are turned off.

    4. Chrome Extension Data

When installed, the extension reads publicly visible information on YouTube pages (such as video, channel, and thumbnail data) to render analytics and TubeGrade features in your browser. Where required for a feature, it communicates with api.tubegrade.com using your TubeGrade session.

The extension sends limited telemetry events to help us understand usage and reliability — for example install, sign-in success or failure, a daily heartbeat used to count active users, feature-usage events, and crash reports. These events include the event name, the extension version, your operating-system platform, and your IP address, and may include your user ID when you are signed in. Heartbeat and install events may be recorded anonymously (without a user ID) before you sign in.

If you are signed in to TubeGrade and also signed in to YouTube in the same browser, the extension may detect the YouTube channel associated with your signed-in session (such as its channel ID, handle, and name) and associate it with your TubeGrade account. We use this to power channel-specific features, to keep your linked channel up to date, and for internal product and security analytics. We collect this only as permitted by YouTube’s Terms of Service, and you can remove the association by unlinking your channel, signing out, or uninstalling the extension.

The extension stores your settings and session in browser storage. You can clear this at any time by signing out or uninstalling the extension.

    5. Public YouTube Data

TubeGrade analyzes publicly available YouTube data — video titles, view and engagement counts, thumbnails, channel statistics, and similar public signals — to power outlier detection, niche research, keyword mapping, and thumbnail intelligence. Thumbnails may be processed into numerical embeddings to support visual-similarity search.

Some features surface business or contact details that creators have made publicly available on their channels. This public data is associated with channels and videos rather than with your personal identity, and is used to provide research insights across the Service.

Our use of YouTube information is independent of, and not endorsed by, YouTube or Google. Your use of YouTube data obtained through TubeGrade is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

    6. How We Use Information

We use information to provide, operate, and secure the Service; authenticate you and maintain sessions; personalize feeds and results; generate AI outputs you request; process payments, plans, and credits; prevent fraud and abuse; debug and improve features; measure usage; and provide support.

We may also use information to comply with legal obligations and to send you essential service communications. With your consent where required, we may send product updates and marketing messages, which you can opt out of at any time.

    8. AI & Automated Processing

When you use AI features (such as Idea generation, keyword expansion, or niche reports), we send the relevant inputs — for example your prompt and related public data — to third-party service providers, including AI and data-processing providers, to generate your results. We send only what is needed to produce the output and do not include unnecessary personal data.

AI outputs are generated automatically and may be inaccurate or incomplete; please review them before relying on them. We do not use AI features to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

    9. Cookies & Local Storage

We use strictly necessary cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and protect against fraud and abuse. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, ad pixels, or cross-site tracking. We use analytics, including Google Analytics (described below), solely to operate and improve the Service — never for advertising.

We use Google Analytics 4, an analytics service provided by Google, to understand how our website and browser extension are used — for example, which features are opened, how often, and on which type of page — so we can improve them. Google Analytics collects information such as the features and pages you interact with, approximate location derived from IP address, and device, browser, and operating-system type. On the website it sets its own cookies or similar storage; in the extension it uses a randomly generated installation identifier stored locally on your device, and it does not collect your browsing history or page content. This information is processed by Google as our service provider, and we do not use it for advertising. You can disable analytics in the extension settings, and on the web you can install Google’s opt-out browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). See Google’s Privacy Policy for more information.

The extension uses browser storage for your settings and session. You can clear cookies and local storage through your browser, by signing out, or by uninstalling the extension. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent the Service from working.

    10. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data with service providers ("processors") who help us run TubeGrade and who are bound to protect it and use it only on our instructions:

Google and Supabase — sign-in and identity. Google Analytics (Google) — product and usage analytics for our website and browser extension. Hostinger — website hosting and managed databases. Cloudflare — content delivery, DNS, and edge security in front of our website and API. Our virtual private server provider — backend, admin, and compute services. Dodo Payments — billing and payment processing as merchant of record. We also share data with other third-party service providers, including AI and data-processing providers, to power compute-intensive and AI features.

We may also disclose information to comply with law, enforce our Terms, protect the rights, safety, and security of TubeGrade and others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets (with notice where required). We may share aggregated or de-identified data that does not identify you.

    11. Google & YouTube API Data

To the extent TubeGrade receives information from Google APIs, our use and transfer of that information adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements, and to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy.

We do not use Google or YouTube user data to serve advertisements, and we do not sell it or transfer it except as needed to provide or improve user-facing features, to comply with law, or as part of a merger or acquisition. You can revoke TubeGrade’s access to your Google account at any time through your Google account settings.

    12. Data Retention

We keep account and usage data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Operational logs and telemetry are retained for a limited period for security, debugging, and analytics, after which they are deleted or aggregated.

We may retain certain information longer where necessary to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required.

    13. Data Security

We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, restricted admin access over secure tunnels, and audit logging of administrative actions.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We work to limit risk and to detect and respond to incidents promptly, and where required by law we will notify affected users and authorities of a qualifying data breach.

    14. International Data Transfers

TubeGrade is operated from India and our providers may process and store data in other countries, including the United States and the European Union. These countries may have data-protection laws different from those where you live.

Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as standard contractual clauses — for cross-border transfers. By using the Service, you understand your information may be processed in these locations.

    15. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, update, export (portability), or delete your personal data; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority.

If you are in India, you have rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, including the right to access, correct, and erase your personal data, the right to nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity, and the right to grievance redressal. You can raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer at support@tubegrade.com, and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

    16. US State Privacy Rights

If you are a resident of California or another US state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have the right to know and access the personal information we collect, to request correction or deletion, to data portability, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information and of targeted advertising.

We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We honor recognized opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control (GPC), where applicable. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.

    17. How to Exercise Your Rights

To exercise any of these rights, email support@tubegrade.com from the email address associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

    18. Marketing & Communications

We may send you essential service messages (such as security, billing, and account notices), which are necessary to operate the Service. Where we send product or marketing emails, you can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting support@tubegrade.com — this will not affect essential service messages.

    19. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals. There is no common industry standard for responding to DNT, so we do not currently respond to DNT signals. Where applicable, we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as described above.

    20. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact support@tubegrade.com and we will delete it.

    22. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy as the product or legal requirements change. The "last updated" date reflects the latest version, and for material changes we will use reasonable efforts to provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after an update takes effect means you accept the revised Policy.
